Dr. David Samadi was born in Iran and immigrated in 1979 with his brother following the revolution there. After attending school in Belgium and the UK, Dr. David Samadi came to the US where he studied at New York’s Stony Brook University. Following a B.S. in biochemistry and M.D., Dr. David Samadi completed his postgraduate training at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he specialized in urology and proctology. Dr. David Samadi eventually focused on prostate cancer treatment, and is one of the foremost experts in robotic prostate surgery. Dr. David Samadi is also involved in research in this field and created the unique SMART prostate surgery technique that is robot-assisted and minimally invasive. Dr. David Samadi has taught urology at Hofstra University’s medical school and is currently the Chairman of Urology and Chief of Robotic Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.
