Scott Rocklage’s Commendable Work in the Healthcare Service Industry

Scott Rocklage is a managing partner of 5AM Ventures. The healthcare management guru studied at the University of California, Berkley where he received his BS in Chemistry. He received his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His vast knowledge in Chemistry has made him a force to reckon with in the healthcare industry.

Scott Rocklage’s Career

Dr. Scott Rocklage has acquired over 20 years of experience in healthcare management. Before acquiring his position with 5AM Venture, Dr. Rocklage worked with several other companies. He worked with Cubist Pharmaceuticals where he served as the President and CEO.

He has also worked as the Chairman of Nycomed Interventional. His career portfolio is quite extensive. He worked with Salutar and Catalytica, where he held R&D positions.

He also holds positions with Relypsa and Semprus, Boards of WaveRx, Pulmatrix, and variation, as well as Whitehead Institute where he is on the Board of Associates.

He started working with 5AM Ventures in 2003. He started off as a venture partner but later in 2004, he became the managing partner. His work in 5AM Ventures is commendable. The company concentrates on life science companies. Through his leadership, 5AM Ventures is able to support companies looking for solutions in the healthcare industry.


Scott Rocklage has engineered the approval of three U.S. new Drug Applications, namely; Cubicin, Teslascan, and Omniscan. He has both invented and assisted in the invention of more than 30 U.S. patents.

He has also done tremendous work in publishing over 100 peer-reviewed publications. He attributes his success to his lack of fear in risk-taking.

Scott Rocklage is not just a great healthcare management professional, but an entrepreneur as well.
